Update - Phase 2 of Lockdown (22-05-2020)
Dear Plot Holders,
I am pleased that many of you have visited your plots for exercise and have been able spend time at AWSLG. It has been a delight to see families together on their plots and walking around our beautiful Wildlife Field. However don’t forget to keep the two metres social distance, to wear gloves when opening the gate locks, using taps and the wheelbarrows. If you are feeling unwell or have any of the symptoms of the virus please do not come to the site.
I know that some of you are vulnerable and have had to stay at home. This must be difficult, rest assured we are thinking of you, hoping that you are well and have help. Your plot will be there when you can return.
Thanks to those of you who have supported and encouraged me and other members of the committee, it has been, and still is, a challenging time. I am delighted to tell you that Cath Hawkes (plot 295) has kindly stepped up as Secretary and Jon Lardner (plots 322b, 323b and 101) as Acting Vice Chair until their appointment can be formally acknowledged.
According to the Government we are now entering phase 2 in the fight against Covid-19. As the Prime Minister stressed this is a controlled exit from the lockdown and the risk remains. Stay Alert, Control the Virus, Save Lives.
The Trading Hut Opening
As many of you know we opened the Trading Hut on trial last weekend, having taken all the measures to the best of our ability to ensure the safety of the plot holders and volunteers. Following the success of last weekend the Trading Hut will re-open this coming weekend on Saturday and Sunday mornings only from 10.30am -12.15pm, for the foreseeable future with the following safeguards:
- Payment by card only no cash
- The entrance will be via the rear door and exit through the front
- No browsing so please be prepared with a list
- Wear gloves
- Come alone, one person per plot to join the queue
- Observe the two metres safe distance rule in the queue and the shop
- While we cannot replenish our stock the sale of some goods will be restricted
- No parking alongside the Trading Hut.
To re-open we need Volunteers now!
I am therefore appealing for help in the Trading Hut and Warehouse from younger, healthy plot holders to offer your time to help us, without you we will not be able to remain open.
